THE SEVEN HILLS AND THEIR VILLA

Who arrives for the first time in Bossico will be stunned by a place known as “Settecolli” – Seven Hills – at 1,000 m.a.s.l. In the second half of 1800 some imposing villas were built there by affluent people of the middle class and nobles belonging to the liberal and anti-clericalism movements in favor of Rome, the Italian capital. For this reason, these villas were named after the famous Seven Hills of Rome and the events of the Risorgimento.

Villa Vaticano arises at 115 meters above sea level in the south side of “Prati di Stà”.

Starting from Ss. Peter and Paul’s Square you can follow a guided itinerary thanks to bulletin boards that show history and curiosity.
